Responsibilities of the Industrial Electronics Technician
- Install programmable logic controllers and computerized robotics systems. Install and interpret data from analog and digital recorders, as required.
- Program various machine components (PLCs, sensors, controllers, drives, etc.).
- Work from drawings, specifications and verbal instructions to install, maintain, clean, connect and adjust motors, control panels, transformers, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, etc.
- Troubleshoot with a systematic approach, using available tools, documents and resources.
- Wire, inspect electrical equipment; check for current variations; modify connections between systems, etc.
- Carry out minor repairs on electronic equipment (e.g. check components)
- Support work planning
- Assist employees of different classifications in the accomplishment of assigned tasks by performing simple jobs.
- Use instruments such as voltmeter, ammeter, megohmmeter, ohmmeter.
To be successful in your job, you must first :
- Have a DEC in electrical engineering, a combination of a DEP in electromechanics and an AEC in automation
- 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in a heavy industrial sector
- Knowledge of OMRON PLC programming
- familiarity with Yaskawa Motomane robots
- Knowledge of See Electrical software for modifying electrical drawings
- C license in electricity is an asset
- Be a hands-on person!
